REVIEW: Mentholatum's Lip Pure Lip Balms

There two tubes of honey goodness greeted me last week when I got back from winter land, Sydney. And were they welcomed with open hands! My lips were chapped so badly!

Thank you, Camelia, for the sponsorship!

Mentholatum's Lip Pure Lip Balm (Fragrance Free) is formulated with natural beeswax for the gentlest lip hydration. It contains 100% food grade ingredients like Shea Butter Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin E and Aloe Extract for hydration that is deep and long-lasting.

The balm is free from fragrances, colorants and preservatives.

The balm is housed in a palm-sized lipstick tube. A twist of the tube and the balm spirals out. It goes on light, with a slight sheen, and is adequate for the everyday maintenance of your lips. Drier lips will need a thicker balm for speedy recovery.

I like that the balm contains Grape Seed Oil. Grape Seed Oil is lighter than most oils and thus, sinks into the skin more easily. The balm feels comfortable on the lips, with no waxy feel. One thing though... I wish the balm had SPF!

Lips can also seek comfort with Mentholatum's Lip Pure Lipgel in Honey Lemon. The gentle beeswax formulation is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. It too contains 100% food grade ingredients like Shea Butter Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin E and Aloe Extract.

The gel is free from colorants and preservatives.

The gel comes in a handy squeeze tube. The minute the gel oozes out, you are hit with a sweet honey lemon scent! I love it! The gel has little gold glitters in it which leave the lips in a glossy coat. The coat isn't sticky but it is a tad thick. Again, I wish the gel came with SPF!

Mentholatum's Lip Pure series comes in Orange, Fragrance Free and Honey Lemon. It is available at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and all major supermarkets and departmental stores at $7.90 each.
