FRAGRANCE: Desire by Dolce&Gabbana

Dolce&Gabbana recently launched their latest fragrance, Desire by Dolce&Gabbana. This is fronted by the very sensual Scarlett Johanson, who epitomizes the quintessential Dolce&Gabbana woman. She is led by her strong emotions, allowing her desire to take the wheel confidently.

"Everything starts with desire. There wouldn't be seduction, sensuality or passion if it wasn't for desire. For us, it’s always been fundamental to let this sensation go, to break the mould and live freely by emotions."

Desire by Dolce&Gabbana is an addition to the brand's The One collection. The bottle takes the shape of the elegant and classic flacon that the collection has adopted. The cap's perimeter is lined with gold to reflect the opulence of the Baroque period and Sicily, the birthplace of Domenico Dolce (One of the founders of said brand.) and topped with a black gemstone. The front of the bottle is sprawled with Stefano Gabbana (The other founder.)'s beautiful handwriting of the word 'Desire' in gold.

The fragrance is an Oriental Floral with a bouquet of intense and intoxicating notes that spell opulence and femininity.

Top Notes
Light scents that are detected immediately upon application. Forms your first impression.
Fresh top notes of mandarin, lychee and bergamot play softly against the sweet innocence of lily of the valley.

Middle Notes
Scents that emerge just before the top notes departs. Masks initial unpleasant impression of base notes, which improves with time.
At the core of an intense heart is a trio of ultra feminine florals. The elegance of Madonna lily and the heady opulence of Indian tuberose are blended with velvety jasmine and addictively sweet plum nectar.

Base Notes
Rich and deep scents that emerge before the middle notes departs. Brings depth and solidity to the fragrance.
Adding an indulgent richness to the base is a gourmand note of vanilla infused caramel, melded with warming sandalwood and a touch of mysterious musk and Cistus Labdanum.

Desire by Dolce&Gabbana will be launched in the middle of this year at all Dolce&Gabbana boutiques and recognized perfume stores. The prices are $112 (30ml), $151 (50ml) and $190 (70ml).

HAUL: Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizers SPF 20 (Oil-free) and Loose Setting Powder

I think it was two weeks back that Sephora held their very-rare 20% off member sale. I battled all temptations in the last one but this time round... Sigh. The mind is willing but the body is weak. Yeah righttt. Ah well... Money that is spent IS spent so yay, let's just celebrate our hauls! :D

I took the opportunity to get Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizers in Porcelain and Nude. I'm in-between the two shades and since there was 20% off, I was like what the hell... *GRABS BOTH*.

Hazel mentioned in a comment that Laura Mercier's Loose Setting Powder works for her so again, since there was 20% off, I decided to give it a go too. Heh.

I can't wait to try the products out and hopefully, they will make another appearance here, with favourable reviews. Fingers crossed that they will work for me!
