REVIEW: Kao's Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover and Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets

2 weeks back, The Sample Store sent me

Kao Bioré's Bioré Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets
Kao Bioré's Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover
Kao Bioré's Bioré Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip.

For those who have been reading my blog for a while now, you will know that I love the Kao Bioré's Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover tons and did a review here. This time round, I will be reviewing it again, along with the Kao Bioré's Bioré Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets, with more pictures. (:

The Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover comes in a blue bottle which opens easily. No problem with the packaging here.

The Bioré Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets comes in a container with an opening at the top. Sheets can be pulled out from the opening, making it very convenient. The sheets also come in small packets, like those of tissue papers.

I'll be 'conducting' my review by going through the different components of basic makeup; Foundation, eyeshadows, eyeliners, blusher and lipsticks.

Kao Bioré's Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover
I love, love, love the Hyra-Clear Makeup Remover and have been actually loving it for a very long time. I'm currently onto my 3rd bottle. The cleanser doesn't remove K-Palette's eyeliner entirely with a few swipes of it. The remaining of the eyeliner did eventually go away, with some rather vigorous rubbing which left my arm slightly red. I'm guessing that this cleanser isn't all that effective when it comes to waterproof makeup. However, as seen from the above pictures, it does a pretty good job with the other makeup. It's gentle, it doesn't sting, I'm sold. (:

Kao Bioré's Bioré Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets
Whenever I'm in a rush to clean off my makeup or when I'm out and realized that my makeup has smudged, the Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial sheets is what I whip out. It cleans off my makeup very easily. There is little need for tugging of the skin when it comes to removing eye makeup (Remember to hold the sheet against your eyes for a few seconds first!). I love the practicality and convenience of it! It has taken up permanent residence in my bag!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris' Renewal Lash Serum

Being a 100% Asian means that I have been 'blessed' with almost invisible lashes. Hence, the interest in lash serums. I have tried the old Foltène Lash Treatment, both the old and new Canmake's Lash Care Essences, The Face Shop's Eyelash and Eyebrow Nutrition Liquid, Brow Lash EX's Long Grow Repair and Ardell's Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel. To cut straight to the point, the old Canmake one curled my lashes and I noticed growth ONLY with the Ardell one. It stopped after a while though. The rest, as much as I can discern, did nothing. I was very disappointed with the Foltène one since it sounded most promising and was the most expensive.

(Most of them stung, if they got into the eye.)

When the L'Oreal Paris' Renewal Lash Serum first came out, I wasn't the least bit interested. Once bitten, twice shy. Okay, in this case, I have been 'bitten' many times. Haha. Besides, I have (a gazillion) mascaras to make my lashes visible so... *shrugs*

BUT (Every story has a 'but'. Tsk. Annoying, isn't it? *grins*) after reading lollipop26's entry on it and because Watsons had a September special, I decided to buy it.

(picture taken from http://thebeautystop.com/tip-stop-mink-your-lashes/)

I started my lash 'diary' on September 15th (Okay, it's not exactly a 'diary' since there are only 2 'entries'. Pathetic ones. Ugh. I should have planned properly! Anyway...). I got the L'Oreal Paris' Renewal Lash Serum at a discounted price of $21.90.

I applied the serum on my upper and lower lashes only at night, after washing my face.

Okay, I know the pictures are extremely crappy. I'm really, extremely sorry about it. I really wanted to do a 'proper' one but ugh... I can only say that I planned poorly. ): I didn't have a camera with me, so all pictures were taken with a mobile. :\ Pictures on day 6 were taken by Dad and my brother. On Day 29, I had to take the pictures myself and it was quite a feat to accomplish. I was standing in front of the mirror, trying to do the positioning with my other 'uncovered' eye. Anyway...

During the first few days of applications, I woke up to fallen lashes. It was just one or two strands, but I didn't experience any of that when I was using the Ardell one. I know lashes do drop, but it's just that with the Ardell one, I didn't wake up to lashes on my face. But for the L'Oreal one, I did. So I'm guessing that the L'Oreal one did cause my lashes to drop a little. (Very rarely do I rub my eyes when I wake up. I used do it a lot, but not anymore.) I was pretty alarmed but I mean, hey! It worked for lollipop26! So I carried on with it. Throughout the 29 days, lashes did drop. Each time it was a strand or two.

Longer lashes? Yes, I think there is some length so yay! (:
Fuller lashes? Nuh-uh. Definitely not. (It looks likes my lashes have grown fuller in the last row of pictures, but I really do not think so. I think it's because of the angle at which the picture was taken.)
Stronger lashes? I'm not exactly sure what 'stronger lashes' mean here. I'm guessing that it means that the lash strand is thicker. If that's the case, no.

So yep, here ends my verdict on the L'Oreal Paris' Renewal Lash Serum. If you ask me if you should get it, I'll recommend Ardell's Brow & Lash Growth Accelerator Treatment instead. Dor and her mum used it too and both noticed length. But I guess, there's a limit as to how much your lash can grow, so the growth is going to stop after a while.

Has anyone used this before? Or tried other brands like Mavala? (:

I tried to do a more professional-looking layout for this review. But I think that I should go back to my doodlings. Heh.

HAUL: (Not again!) From the bustling town of Tampines

(from top)
Lulur Mandi ($2.70 - $2.90)
Pond's Cold Cream ($6.90)
Schwarzkopf Gliss' Hair Repair for Anti Split-Ends and Deep Repair 19 ($10.90)
L'Oreal HiP's Color Chrome Eyeliner in 910 Black Shock ($17.90)
Tsubaki's Shampoo (x2) and Hair Treatment ($28.90) (not in the picture)
-

Umm... I hauled again. Haha. The idea was to get the Lulur Mandi scrubs. It will be pretty troublesome for me to get them once I shift house next Friday (EEKS!!! I'm so excited but I'm going to miss my current place so much! )': ). But I decided to take a walk around Tampines N2 Centre and ended up with all the above, save for the eyeliner (Watsons)! Eeps, eeps, eeps!!! :\

For those who don't know, Lulur Mandi is a traditional scrub for brides-to-be. There is more information about the scrubs here. I read from forums that these tubs cost a dollar in Indonesia. :\ In Singapore, the price range is from $2.70 to $5 (A shop at Parkway sells 3 tubs for $10.). The Malay shop that I bought these from used to sell them for $2.50. Now, it's $2.70. It's an increment of 20 cents only but BIG SIGH. Anyway, for those who are interested, this Malay shop is located beside Guardian at Tampines N2 Centre (Street 21).

I got Pond's Cold Cream only because Ru blogged about it. Haha. I don't even know if it's good.

*reads the comments*

Crap!!! Apparently, it's a pain to wash off! Ugh. I should have read the comments first before deciding to buy it. Ugh ugh ugh! I got the big bottle because the small ones didn't have expiry dates on them. Oh gawd. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh! (This and the Tsubaki set were bought from CK, by the way. It's sort of at the end of the place.)

Schwarzkopf Gliss' hair treatments were bought because the hair mask is awesome. I got them at Red Berries, which is located on the other side of Guardian. Some of their prices are cheaper than Swanston's! The L'Oreal hair masks cost about $36+ at Swanston's, whereas Red Berries sells them for $31+. (Oh! Sasa sells the Schwarzkopf Gliss' hair treatments for $12.90, I think.)

As for the L'Oreal HiP eyeliner... Another big sigh. Silly me brought all my eyeliners, save for a white one, to the new house. I won't be going to the new house till next Friday so... *guilty look*

Alright. That's all, Muffins! No more hauls, I cross my heart. (I bet I'm hauling so much because of the stress from school. I'm sure of it!!!) Anyway, a review will be up tomorrow night. So till then, take care! (:

HAUL: From the little town of China!

PHEW! It's finally the end of the week (Just because I don't go school on Fridays. Not that I haven't got classes... XP). This week was the epitome of insanity because I had 4 quizzes. I managed only 4 hours of sleep on Monday and Wednesday nights so I'm flat out knackered and completely brain dead. So, of course, I had to treat myself after the whole 'ordeal' ended! Hee! *gives a VERY wide grin*

Charlene La Lapine did some recent haulings at Chinatown and because I was headed that area, I decided to do one too! (:

(from top clockwise)

Pigeon's Baby Compact Powder in Ivory ($5.90)
Lanéige's Pore Clear Wash Off Pack ($32.00)
Bed Head's Dumb Blonde ($26.00)
Lanéige's Strawberry Yogurt Pack (Sample-sized, $7.90)
Lancôme's Blanc Expert (Sample-sized, 2 for $9.90)
Clinique's Turnaround Concentrate (Sample-sized, 3 for $19.90)
-

Jacelyn Tay mentioned about the Pigeon's Baby Compact Powder in a really ancient 8 Days' article. I used to own the one in pink but back then, I was only in lower secondary. I didn't even know what powder was, so I passed it on to Gran. On the side of the box, it says 'Light powder with natural coverage that minimizes pores while controlling surface oil'. I have been using K-Palette's Teka Oil Control Mat Powder (I'm loving this! Review will be up next week! (: ). But anything that claims to shrink my pores screams 'BUY!!!' for me. So heh.

Lanéige's Pore Clear Wash Off Mask, Bed Head's Dumb Blonde and Clinique's Turnaround Concentrate are recommendations of Charlene La Lapine (If Charlene Senior says it's good, Charlene Junior has to buy it. Haha!). I got the Lancôme's Blanc Expert just because I wanted to get something else in sample-sized. Haha. Sample-sized items are incredibly cute. It was hard not to go 'berserk' just now (Spoken like a true beauty junkie!).

All items were bought at People's Park Center. The first 3 were at Swanston (#01-17). It isn't exactly located in the mall. The entrance faces out. The sample-sized items were bought from a shop on the 2nd floor. I can't remember the name but that shop has many samples and it's not far from the escalator.
