RAMBLINGS: When you are a hurricane.

"I am not the first person you loved.
You are not the first person I looked at with a mouthful of forevers.

We have both known loss like the sharp edges of a knife.
We have both lived with lips more scar tissue than skin.

Our love came unannounced in the middle of the night.
Our love came when we’d given upon asking love to come.

I think that has to be part of its miracle.
This is how we heal.

I will kiss you like forgiveness.
You will hold me like I’m hope.

Our arms will bandage and we will press promises between us like flowers in a book.
I will write sonnets to the salt of sweat on your skin.
I will write novels to the scar of your nose.
I will write a dictionary of all the words I have used trying to describe the way it feels to have finally, finally found you.

And I will not be afraid of your scars.
I know sometimes it’s still hard to let me see you in all your cracked perfection, but please know:

whether it’s the days you burn more brilliant than the sun or the nights you collapse into my lap your body broken into a thousand questions, you are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

I will love you when you are a still day.
I will love you when you are a hurricane."

I JUST watched 'The Notebook' and my gosh... As sappy as it was, I friggin' love it! I can't believe I took so long. Okay, so I actually really hate sappy stuff. But I only hate it when I'm over it. Haha. Anyway, I'm reading the book now. And the book pales in comparison to the film, which is so very, very strange because we all know that the books are usually better. But Nicholas Sparks is so s-l-o-w. Like every movement of the protagonists is calculated and has a meaning to it. So does not happen in real life (Hello. Pur-please.). BUT I'm still going to finish it anyway. It has been so long since I last picked up a book. I know. Shameful.

It has been a while since I last 'rambled' here. I feel like my thoughts are so frivolous and trivial now that they are just not worth penning down. I try to run everyday after work. Once dinner is done, I do random stuff, reply to texts and end the day with a phone call to my bestie. And that's it. I think my work is meaningful enough but I feel like there should be something more. Unfortunately and as always, I just can't put my finger on what it is.

But surely, life is more than this.

REVIEW: SK-II's Facial Treatment Essence - Eye

SK-II's Facial Treatment Essence - Eye is the latest addition to the only family that's steeped in the goodness of Pitera. Inspired by 10 years of research, the potent eye-potion vanquishes the signs of ageing and fatigue. Bid dark circles and fine lines goodbye as you welcome brighter and livelier peepers.

I received the Facial Treatment Essence - Eye earlier this year and have been using it pretty frequently. Late nights spent poring over Math questions have pretty much morphed my eyes into those of a zombie's. And when you're a quarter of a century old, eye bags are no longer funny. The essence comes out creamy and as white as snow. Instructions say to pump once onto your palm but I find it rather thick so I don't use a full pump. With my ring fingers, I make small dabs around each eye and massage the essence in with circular motions. I do this before applying my moisturizer.

The essence keeps my eye areas smooth and I wake up to skin that's smooth and plump with hydration. My eye bags have also lightened slightly so concealing them now is a much easier task; I need less concealer and I find that it doesn't sit into my lines so much anymore. Despite its thick and creamy consistency, I haven't had any problems with it. I didn't experience any irritation, there is no greasy and uncomfortable feeling and no new milia seeds formed.

For those who are still a tad skeptical about the powers of Pitera, here's a video to convince you otherwise. (:

REVIEW: Crabtree & Evelyn's Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy Collection

Crabtree & Evelyn's Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy is a cream formulation of shea butter and macadamia nut oil to moisturize and soften your hands. It also contains myrrh, which helps to condition your cuticles and nails. And the intensive conditioning is provided without any greasy residue because it melts instantly into your skin.

There are currently 16 fragrances.

  • Avocado, Olive & Basil
  • Citron, Honey & Coriander
  • English Honey & Peach Blossom
  • Evelyn Rose
  • Gardeners
  • Iris
  • La Source
  • Lavender
  • Lily
  • Nantucket Briar
  • Pomegranate, Argan & Grapeseed
  • Rosewater
  • Summer Hill
  • Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage
  • Somerset Meadow
  • Verbena & Lavender de Provence

Crabtree & Evelyn's Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy is my favourite-st hand cream. It smoothens the lines on my hands instantly and plumps them up with moisture. And the scent! Ahhh... I have one residing in every bag that I own, another sitting prettily beside my bed and yet another accompanying me while I work (I bought the massive sampler set 2 Christmases ago!).

This week, I acquired the above 2! Haha. Summer Hill has a very light, refreshing floral scent, while English Honey & Peach Blossom is, of course, as sweet as honey! I think it is important to take extra care of our hands because we totally overwork them (More so than the other limbs.). I mean, we use them for practically everything. And besides, hand creams come in really pretty and adorable packaging. Especially these Crabtree & Evelyn's darlings.

The only gripe that I have, though, is that because these hand creams are so full, they tend to overflow even when you aren't squeezing the tubes. Of course, this problem is eradicated when you are 3/4 into the tubes. (:

Each fragrance comes in tubes of 25g ($13), 100g ($33) and 250g ($65). The smallest will actually last for several months, depending on how much you 'spam'. From now till March 5th, there are 2 in-store promotions; Hand Therapy Duo, $45 (U.P. $66): Hand Therapy 100g x2 and Mini Hand Therapy Sampler. $28 (U.P. $39): Hand Therapy 25g x3. Happy shopping! (:
