GOODIES: The Body Shop's Spa Fit Range

Earlier last month, I received a basket of The Body Shop's newest spa series, Spa Fit. Thank you, Dorcas and The Body Shop, for making my June zesty! :D

Spa Fit is described as 'the ultimate home-spa range that delivers the firming and toning power of a spa trip in just minutes'.

The range is jam-packed with orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit oils and natural caffeine. The fruit oils help keep your skin smooth and soft like a baby, while caffeine works hard at toning and firming you up!

Spa Fit was tested on over 150 women and here are the figures!

70% said their skin looked more toned.
74% said their skin looked firmer.
74% said their skin felt smoother.
96% said their skin felt softer.



Here's my pretty basket of goodies! A tube of Tea Tree Pore Minimizer was included as well but I'll leave that for another entry. (:



Spa Fit is an equation of 4 products; Body Massager ($14.90), Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub ($42.90), Skin Perfecting Massage Oil ($28.90) and Intensive Toning Concentrate ($34.90).

As most of us are aware, The Body Shop is a brand that practises giving back to society. Her products contain Community Fair Trade ingredients and Spa Fit is no exception. The organic aloe vera found in this range is from Guatemala. It is hand-harvested and hand-filleted to preserve the gel's freshness and all these are done within half a day. The trade provides income for the El Progreso's farmers and materials to more than 100 schools.



Here are the steps which are to be accompanied with the products to get your body picture perfect!





I have been using the above 3 products for close to a month now and it has been a complete delight! For those who don't follow me on Twitter, I'm currently on an internship. And I don't know how the other ladies do it, but juggling family, boyfriend, friends, blog and work is no mean feat. I try to get an average of 6 hours of sleep daily but every morning, I wake up feeling like I just ran a marathon.

Haha. Please excuse my whining (If this irks you, do not follow me on Twitter. Do not. You have been warned.). Heh. But I'm pretty glad that I have got this range in my bathroom right now. I make it a point to use the Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub every morning (Even when I'm running late. Which happens every other day.) because I love the citrus scent! It lifts my mood and you know how morning moods set the tone for the day. (: The scrub also keeps my skin smooth!

Using the Skin Perfecting Massage Oil every night keeps my skin from drying out (I swear Singapore has her every own Arctic and it takes the form of my office.). The oil absorbs in the skin quickly, leaving no sticky residue or heaviness. I sleep in comfort and when I shower in the morning, I don't feel like I'm washing off a layer of anything. I don't feel anything at all, except smoothness and softness. The skin just soaks in all the goodness of the oil.

The firming and toning effects are slight but I do think that these 2 areas need a longer time. And most certainly, a little exercise will help! (:

I haven't used a luxurious body care range for a really long while now and am really glad for these new residents in my loo. I think this might just set off some kind of obsession with body care products in me. Heh.

EVENT: SK-II's Travel Through Time Workshop

On May 23rd, I made my way to JetQuay CIP Terminal for SK-II's Travel Through Time Workshop! We had our own ride to the elite airport terminal to rewind time with SK-II and discover the 'youthful beauty of 10 years ago'! For those who don't know about JetQuay CIP Terminal, it opened in September 2006 to provide personalized checking in, baggage handling and immigration clearance services. It welcomes any passengers travelling in any class and at any point of their journeys (Arriving, departing and transiting). The terminal comes equipped with a business centre, private meeting rooms, board rooms, showers, day rooms, a contemporary art exhibition, cable television and free internet access. It was beyond lovely, supremely classy and pretty apt for the event! I really love events because not only do I get to touch base with founders, scientists etc. (Among a multitude of other reasons, of course! Like new friends! :D) and learn more about products, I also get to go to places which I have never been before! And here's where the stage is, with chairs and tables draped in the brand's signature red and white colours. The workshop marked another milestone in SK-II's history with her newest anti-ageing innovation, STEMPOWER! There are 3 types of climates that travellers experience; their current location, in the airplane and at their destination.

Skin loses moisture due to the cold and dry cabin air, so load up on the serums and do post-flight care. Mask before and after the flight to keep your skin hydrated.

During the flight process, go barefaced or use light makeup. The myth that layering on makeup protects your skin is false!

Use a facial spray (Make your own by pouring a little of SK-II's Facial Treatment Essence in a spray bottle!). Love, Bonito's Viola was present as well to give her SK-II's story. She was really gorgeous and her skin was just completely smooth and flawless! Nitiwadee Songrienchai, ASEAN SK-II Beauty Consultant Training Manager from Procter & Gamble Trading (Thailand) Co. Perhaps, it's because we are more aware of time or maybe it's due to the fact that we are busy 24/7. Where skin is concerned, even though I'm considered 'young', I find that my skin is no longer oily and has gone over to another dark side; drought. Dry skin makes your face a very rough canvas for makeup and a breeding place for lines. So I do concur that anti-ageing needs to be started young. Do get your skin analyzed by the beauty consultants so that the right products can be prescribed to you. (: SK-II's Beauty Consultants are always happy to help! MAIL: My first nail polish ring!

Nail polish rings have been quite the rage lately and I was spun into the glittery vortex when Melissa, from Posh Polish, sent me my very own! Thank you, Melissa! :D

Nail polish rings are made of glass cabochons or flat glass marbles. When nail polishes are painted on the bottom of them, these seemingly nondescript half marbles magnify the effects of the polishes. It's like having the galaxy and ten additional billion stars thrown into a little gem!



Melissa started Posh Polish in February this year when she spotted these gems online! But as usual, shipping usually kills so she decided to start up her own little shop to provide these nail polish rings (There are others too! Read on! :D) at friendly prices!

For the rings, Melissa has 11 different settings at the moment. You can pick an antique flower setting like mine or have a gumdrop sitting on silver or gold! There are oval cabochons, teardrop cabochons and even heart-shaped ones! You will definitely find one that you like! Though I have to warn you... You are so spoilt for choices that you just want everything! I 'pinged and ponged' several emails to Melissa over the customization of my ring! Heh.



Also, Melissa uses only quality nail polishes. So expect brands like O.P.I, China Glaze, Color Club, Ozotic (SOMEONE HAS TO CHECK THIS BRAND OUT. LIKE SERIOUSLY.), etc. She seals the polish with top coat so it won't fade and settings are fixed on with waterproof, industrial-strength glue. And Melissa is so meticulous that she also seals the cabochons with a non-toxic, water-resistant coating!

I feel really good... Okay, it sounds a little weird. Heartwarming would be a better word, I think... It's really heartwarming to know that I own something which has so much care poured into it. (:



Besides rings, Melissa also has ear studs, necklaces and bobby pins. Collections are launched pretty frequently and in the near future, expect some nail art too! :D You can pick from her collections or you can customize your own like what I did. (:

Each item is lovingly handmade by Melissa, so do be patient and give her a minimum of 3 days. (:



My ring came neatly bubble-wrapped with a personal note from Melissa. It feels sturdy and I like that it's adjustable. Fixed sizes are just so troublesome because I mean, what's a 'M' or 'size 9'?!? This way, you can never order the wrong size! One thing to note though, is that the ends stick out a little but it's nothing too uncomfortable or pokey.

My flower setting is one of the latest designs. There is tiny detailing on the petals and it makes the whole flower look intricate. I had the little bud in the middle painted China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. And I mean, gawd! You know how the polish glitters on your nails. Now, the whole glittery effect is magnified! It makes me feel like I'm in one of those movies that involve magic and my ring is like... The KEY to everything... It unlocks all the magic in the world! Haha! It's really super duper gorgeous!

I'm actually eyeing on Captivating Comet (View it here!) because gawd! Ozotic 502 is JUST. SO. LOST-FOR-WORDS. PRETTY. I couldn't choose between Ruby Pumps or 502. I wanted to have a polish that I didn't own but I thought Ruby Pumps would go so well with the flower setting. And it does! :D
