SPOTTED: N.E.mation! 8 is back!

N.E.mation! is back for its 8th season this year! For the uninitiated, N.E.mation! is a digital animation competition for youths to express their thoughts on Total Defence. This competition is proudly organized by Nexus and as aforementioned, is in its 8th year running. The past 7 years have been nothing but success, garnering more than 9,900 students participating. With no prior experience in animation, these students undergo weeks of training and guidance to produce quality clips. I'm sure you have seen some of their works in theaters! :D

This year's theme is 'Because You Played A Part'. The top 10 clips will be judged by a panel of esteemed judges, including Melvin Tan, Senior Animator of Blue Sky Studios. And guess what the winning team gets? A trip to visit a renowned animation studio in USA!

1. Form a team of 3 to 4 students from your school.
2. Register online at http://nemation.sg/.
3. Submit your story ideas on the theme 'Because You Played A Part' by 1pm on August 21st, 2013.

But... What if you don't know how and where to start? Fear not because N.E.mation! has a huge bank of resources to help get your creative juices flowing!

2. Receive coaching on your story ideas when N.E.mation! visit your school, or when you attend their Public Story Clinic session*!

*You get to pick your preferred time slot when you register online! A 'Share Your Story' contest on Facebook that is opened for all ages to participate!

Golly gee, I sure wish I had this when I was in school. :\ But oh wait, us 'oldies' have something in store for us too!

All you need to do is to submit a story online on N.E.mation!'s contest page to tell them how you have played a part for Singapore and you stand to win wither a $50 shopping voucher or a pair of movie tickets! Here are some details:

Contest Period:

• Round 1: 5th to 11th August 2013
• Round 2: 12th to 18th August 2013

Prizes for each round are:

• 1 x $50 Shopping Voucher (Judges' choice.)
• 8 x a pair of movie tickets (Random draw.)
