This Christmas, charity is the new black! SK-II will be spreading the Christmas cheer all the way into January 2013 with a series of 'The Empowerment Effect' Workshops. These workshops will equip women with skills that will help transform their lives for the better. Below is an extract from the press kit. (:
We often hear about gifts for that special someone, whether it is for a sister, daughter, mother, aunt, or grandmother. But are you forgetting the other women at-risk who are more often than not, often sidelined during the noise of Christmas? Meet the women (more than 65% of them) who are employed in vulnerable jobs, women who account for nearly two-thirds of the 776 million illiterate adults in the world, or work who work two-thirds of the world's working hours but only earn 10% of the world's income.
This Christmas, you have a chance to make charity the new black and bring the hidden stories of women at-risk to the foreground. Forget the gifts that come all wrapped up in tinsel and gold. Reach for the gifts that are intricately intertwined with a worthy cause. Such as SK-II's first-ever Empower Me campaign in collaboration with UN Women Singapore and established image consultancy, Image Flair, dedicated to bring the gift of empowerment to young at-risk women by equipping them with social knowledge and enhanced image styling skills to secure better employment opportunities and career advancement. Through a S$10,000 donation, SK-II will be funding a series of 'The Empowerment Effect' Workshops in January, designed to empower women at-risk with essential life skills, inspiring them to be agents of change to transform themselves, their families and communities at large.
Looking to make a difference? Look no further with SK-II!
